From Imagination to Illustration: My Creative Journey
Growing up in the Hague, my love for art began at a young age, driven by a wild imagination. I spent hours sketching the vivid fantasies in my mind, wanting to share the worlds I envisioned with others. Drawing became my way of communicating dreams, emotions, and stories that words alone couldn’t capture. As I developed my skills, my fascination with the arts deepened, leading me to explore costume design, concept art, portraiture, character design, and eventually illustration. Each step allowed me to refine my craft and further express my unique creative vision.
I am a self-taught artist, and while my journey has been shaped by passion, it is also grounded in my academic background in anthropology. This discipline has taught me to look at the world through a lens of culture, history, and human experience, and I strive to weave these insights into my visual storytelling and design. I believe every illustration carries layers of meaning, influenced by the rich diversity of the world around us. I’ve had the privilege of illustrating for news articles and various university initiatives, using my art to communicate ideas and tell stories that resonate with others.
